Sample ranges: compounded semaglutide from about $149 to $299 a month and compounded tirzepatide from about $249 to $449 (compounded medications are not FDA-approved); brand-name medication at the pharmacy price or through insurance. GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide and tirzepatide caused thyroid C-cell tumors in rodents. It is not known whether they cause these tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), in people. Do not use if you or a family member has had MTC, or if you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Tell your clinician right away about a neck lump, hoarseness, trouble swallowing or shortness of breath.
Not for use in pregnancy. Tell your clinician if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding.
